Santo Domingo, July 2025. The law firm Jáquez & Pérez, S.R.L. is pleased to announce that, through Resolution No. 1531-2025-RREE-00004, the Ninth Chamber of the Civil and Commercial Court of First Instance of the National District approved the first court-sanctioned restructuring plan of an economic group in the Dominican Republic, under the provisions of Law No. 141-15 on the Restructuring and Liquidation of Companies and Business Individuals.

This milestone involves an economic group composed of four industrial companies, whose plan was approved by more than 93% of the voting creditors, comfortably exceeding the legal threshold required for confirmation.

The approved plan is built upon key pillars designed to ensure both the payment of outstanding liabilities and the continued operation of the group:

• Assignment and sale of corporate real estate assets valued at more than US$8 million, earmarked for the settlement of tax, labor, and bank obligations.• Corporate reorganization to optimize the group’s organizational structure.• Commercial relaunch, supported by a five-year business plan that secures financial and operational recovery.• Strict adherence to the statutory priority of claims, ensuring that workers, the tax authorities, and secured creditors are paid first.
